The year 2008 is almost over and you might rethink if you need to upgrade your antivirus software and be ready for 2009. Review of Top five 2009 Antivirus Software
BitDefender is the leading antivirus software, I have been using it on my windows systems for 5 years now without any problems. Well I run also Nod32 as well but to boost more protection than antivirus BitDefender is my top no.1 pick for 2009!
Kaspersky Antivirus is great offers lots of features, they included also scan for OS vulnerabilities which other antivirus software does not do. It’s also cheaper too! One drawback of KAV is that the scan feature is quite slow.
WebRoot Antivirus 6.0 is great, this year they offer free online backup and many other new features. It has been awarded for best antivirus software by PCMagazine!
My favorite! Nod32! It’s one of the best antivirus software I ever installed on windows based operating systems, I recommend this over all above but has less features then others such as free online backup, cost etc. But again if you look for fast antivirus without memory drainage this is the antivirus you want in 2009!
AVG 8 is free but they also offer costly version which gives you more control over the software as well as more features. AVG is not bad at all, it does scan for viruses as others do, but the only reason why I would say this software is not my favorite is because of the memory. It takes a lot of memory especially on XP and Vista! But 80 millions of users like it so I am sure that this software is for you too if you are not looking to spend 20-50$ each year for new antivirus software
